My alignment seems fine. They wouldn’t provide information showing rotors needed replaced, and they had been replaced about 14 months prior. Took my car into NTB the next day and was told I only needed brake pads. Wouldn’t recommend for brake work.
Kristina Thank you for your feedback. Regarding brake repair, we believe that the highest quality and most cost-effective long-term approach to brake system maintenance is to replace the brake pads and rotors at the same time. As such, we no longer turn rotors. We’ve set this policy since most rotors available today contain much less material compared to rotors from 10+ years ago. The reason manufacturers have done this is to reduce weight and thus improve fuel efficiency. When you turn (re-surface) a rotor that has less material, it may be fine for a while, but our experience is that there is a higher likelihood that the rotor will warp before the brake pad itself needs to be replaced, potentially leading to another brake repair for the customer. Since we replace both the pads and rotors together, our brake service comes with a lifetime warranty on the brake pads themselves, and a 36,000 miles / 36 months warranty on the overall brake repair. In summary, we believe our policy regarding brake system maintenance is the best approach for the majority of our customers, and hopefully this reply helps to explain our position. That said, we also respect your decision to choose a different maintenance approach for your vehicle’s brake system.
